SPUR forum April 29th: Getting to know our in-laws

OpenScope’s Mark Hogan will be sitting on a lunchtime panel at SPUR on April 29th at 12:30pm discussing accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and the upcoming ADU Handbook that OpenScope has been working on with the San Francisco Planning Department. Part of the focus of this talk will be clarifying recent and upcoming changes to legislation that will support the development of ADUs.

Accessory dwelling units, or “in-law” units, are a great tool for increasing density without affecting neighborhood character. After many years of thwarted efforts in San Francisco, two pieces of legislation supporting these units passed in 2014, and there are more on the horizon. Come learn about this housing type and its role in the city’s housing market. Co-presented by SPUR, San Francisco AIA and San Francisco Housing Action Coalition.
