Pre-reviewed ADU Prototypes

Working with The Housing Endowment and Regional Trust (HEART) of San Mateo County, a grant-funded non-profit, OpenScope is currently developing a set of ADU plans intended to be pre-reviewed by building departments of the cities of San Mateo County, and then made available to the public.

By creating designs that are free and available to the public, the program aims to save homeowners time and money when designing, permitting and building a green accessory dwelling unit on their property. Homeowners can then reinvest these savings back into energy-saving features, space-saving amenities and green building materials.
